How to get contracted

Contracting Requirements

Before submitting contracting paperwork, these steps must be completed:

  1. Agent must be licensed in their respective resident state.

  2. Must provide Errors and Omissions (E&O) Certificate

  3. GFI E&O insurance is required except for New York

  4. E&O is required for New York but does not have be purchased through GFI

  5. Additional details can be found on MyGFIConnect E&O

  6. CE Courses must be completed

  7. AML Training must be completed

  8. Annuity Training must be completed (for Annuity products)

  9. Carrier Product Training must be completed (once contracted)

Step-by-step instructions

  1. Click on "Contracting" tab in Tevah

  2. Select a carrier to start a contracting request. Please make sure you have business to submit with the carrier before initiating the contracting request

  3. Answer carrier and background specific questions, upload your Continued Education, AML and E&O certificates and eSign the forms and click submit

  4. Contracting requests will be processed by the GFI contracting department within 1-2 business days and sent to the carrier for approval

  5. Carrier reviews and approves or denies contract request

  6. Average turnaround time for an agent's first contract request when a background check needs to be completed is 5 - 7 business days

  7. If approved, a Welcome Email will be sent directly from Carrier with your Agent writing Code, & instructions to log into carrier portal

  8. Upload your producer number issued by the carrier in your agent profile section in Tevah under "Appointments". This will help us track your active appointments

  9. Complete Carrier specific product training

  10. You are now ready to submit new business applications!

Inactive Carrier Reinstatements

  1. Carriers will terminate agents for inactivity within a 6 - 12 month period (depending on the carrier). Reinstatement will be required to reactive writing agent code#

  2. Complete a new contracting request for reinstatement

  3. Email appointmentstatus@mygficonnect.com to request carrier contract reinstatement.

  4. Do not submit new business applications until you receive confirmation from the carrier that your contract is reinstated

Additional Non-Resident State Requests

  1. Once agents are contracted with a Carrier and need to add an additional Non-Resident State license, an email needs to be sent directly to the Carrier with a copy of the state license along with a request to get appointed in the state

  2. New contracting paperwork is not required
